Winter ATV safari to the North Cape
Experience the North Cape in winter on a guided ATV safari from Honningsvåg, an Arctic adventure through snow-covered landscapes to Europe’s northernmost point.
Tour description
Winter at the North Cape is raw, spectacular, and full of contrasts. Snow blankets the landscape, the light shifts throughout the day, and nature reveals its most dramatic side. This is the time of year when the North Cape truly feels like the end of the world.
On our winter ATV safari to the North Cape, you’ll experience this unique landscape up close. The excursion starts in Honningsvåg, where you’ll meet your guide, receive a safety briefing, and be provided with a helmet and necessary winter gear. Once everyone is ready, we’ll start the ATVs and set off on the 33-kilometer journey toward the North Cape.
The trip takes us through the open winter landscape of Magerøya, where snow-covered expanses meet dramatic cliffs and the mighty Barents Sea. Along the way, we’ll stop several times so you can take photos and truly soak in the silence and the magnificent nature around you. Winter in the north offers ever-changing weather and light conditions. Some days the landscape is bathed in clear Arctic light, while at other times wind and snowdrifts turn the trip into a true Arctic winter experience.
At this time of year, convoy driving may also be implemented on the road to the North Cape. When weather conditions require it, we drive in convoy behind a snowplow through the snow-covered landscape. This is a special experience in itself and provides a unique insight into how to travel safely in one of Europe’s most weather-exposed areas.
When we arrive at the North Cape, you’ll have plenty of time to explore the area. Take photos by the iconic globe on the cliff 307 meters above sea level, visit the North Cape Hall, and experience the feeling of standing at the very edge of the European continent in the midst of the Arctic winter landscape. After our stay at the North Cape, we’ll hop back on the ATVs and head back to Honningsvåg through the majestic winter landscape.
The North Cape in winter is a truly special experience. The crisp air, snow-capped mountains, and dramatic weather conditions make the trip feel more like a mini-expedition than a typical excursion.
This is a trip for those who want to experience the North Cape at its most authentic and spectacular.
