Northern Lights ATV Safari from Honningsvåg
3-hour guided Northern Lights hunt on Magerøya, far away from city lights.
Tour description
Join us on an exciting ATV safari in search of the Northern Lights, a guided tour from Honningsvåg where we visit the best spots on Magerøya to experience the green veil of the sky.
On our Northern Lights ATV safari, we set out through the Arctic landscape in search of the dancing, magical light that can fill the sky above the North Cape and Magerøya. The tour starts in Honningsvåg where you’ll meet your guide, receive a safety briefing, and be provided with the necessary equipment so you’re ready for a safe and comfortable Northern Lights hunt.
Where the trip goes is determined by nature itself. We assess weather conditions, cloud cover, and Northern Lights forecasts before heading to the areas where the chances of seeing the Northern Lights are greatest.
During the trip, we’ll stop several times to look for the Northern Lights.
Remember to bring your camera! On clear evenings, the Northern Lights can suddenly appear, dancing across the sky, offering the chance to snap some great photos. During the hunt, we’ll serve something warm to drink that you can enjoy while we wait.
Even when the Northern Lights are slow to appear, the trip is an experience. The Arctic nature on Magerøya has a very special atmosphere, whether the sky is clear, snow is falling, or clouds are drifting across the landscape. The silence, the fresh air, and the dramatic winter landscape create an atmosphere you rarely experience elsewhere.
Chasing the Northern Lights by ATV gives you a sense of adventure. You move away from light pollution and out into nature where the sky opens up above you. One moment it is completely still; the next, it is filled with the aurora borealis’s moving green, blue, and white colors. Many describe this as a magical sight, and you never know when it will appear. That is precisely what makes the Northern Lights hunt so exciting!
